Synopsis of Qualifications for Linda Stillman

Linda Stillman

Linda Stillman is President and co-founder of Business Training and Consulting Institute (BTC Institute), a supplier of innovative training products and services for rapidly conveying and mentoring business skills.  Along with her partner, co-founder Robert Emerson, she recognized a market gap that exists for entrepreneurs or intra-preneurs who seek to rapidly acquire business skills, but at a lower price point.  Ms. Stillman realized that to serve this need, new delivery models would have to be developed for learning.

Applying her past experience in sales to the medical sector and the business-to-business sales experience of her father-in-law, BTC Institute has developed training products that help rapidly advance entrepreneurs and intra-preneurs to sales, negotiation and marketing skills competency, before they fully learn why certain skills produce truly amazing results.

Through BTC Institute’ corporate parent, ASPI, LLC, Ms. Stillman and her faculty of business development pros offer innovative training about sales, negotiation and marketing skills and methodologies to all business sectors.  The Company mantra is:  "More actionable content ... in less time."

Stillman was first featured 1/27/08 on MSNBC’s “Your Business” program, sponsored by American Express OPEN.  During the program’s new “Peer to Peer” segment, small business owners give advice for running a successful company.  Stillman talked about the critical importance of focusing on the prospect.  “By asking open-ended questions before presenting,” she said, “one is able to more precisely identify the needs of each buyer.”  First understanding the buyer's exact needs is critical to successful sales.  On 4/19/09, Stillman was again chosen for a cameo appearance on the program.

In addition to appearing on MSNBC’s “Your Business” program and personal council to numerous individual entrepreneurs and intra-preneurs, her clients include: the U.S. Small Business Administration, Rutgers University, William Paterson University, Centenary College and select private-sector companies
.  Ms. Stillman was recently selected by Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO) to teach business skills to entrepreneurs and is a certified instructor for the Women’s Business Center (NJ).

Ms. Stillman has served on the board of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners Morris Chapter for over 3 years and is currently a member of the Executive Committee for NJAWBO.  She is a member of the Board of Advisors for Because We Are Women, Rutgers-Newark SBDC and Teacher’s PET Resources, LLC.  In addition, she is a member of the National Speakers Association's NYC Chapter, NJBIA, TIAW, Make Mine a Million, WCBS Small Business Network, Women’s Leadership Exchange and the New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce.  She is a past board member on the Mountain Lakes NJ Landmark’s Committee and the League of Women Voters.
